Supreme Court Takes Final Decision On Need For 25% In Abuja To Win Presidential Election

The presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi have sought permission from the Presidential Election Court (PEC) in Abuja to inspect materials used for the February 25 election.

Naija News gathered that in separate motions filed by the two candidates, they requested the PEC to allow them to inspect the electoral materials used for last Saturday’s polls.

Their request is said to be contained in two ex-parte motions they filed at the PEC secretariat at the Court of Appeal, Abuja.

It was gathered that while Atiku filed his on March 1, Obi’s filed his on 2nd March.
Both motions, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and two others as respondents, have been listed for hearing today.

Both Atiku and Obi have claimed in separate statements that they won the election last Saturday but were rigged out.

However, both candidates have decided not to accept the results of the election that produced the All Progressive Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu as the winner.

They have vowed to explore all legal means to reclaim their alleged mandate even after INEC has declared Tinubu the winner of the polls.

Meanwhile, Tinubu on the other hand has also said he is ready to face both candidates in any legal battle to defend his mandate as well.
