Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawon, has apologized to the House of Representatives-elect for Eti-Osa Federal constituency, Thaddeus Attah, over a recent attack.

Naija News earlier reported that Attah defeated popular singer, Banky W, and Babjide, son of Musiliu Obanikoro, a former minister of state for defence, at the polls.

The shocking defeat has remained a subject of discussion online especially as many celebrities had envisaged Banky’s victory at the poll.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Deyemi Okanlawo questioned Thaddeus on his plans for Eti-Osa as the Honourable-Elect and urged him to come public with his identity as well as his pedigree.

According to the thespian, he has done thorough research about the LP’s candidate and is yet to find anything about his profile and manifesto for Eti-Osa.

Deyemi in his open letter said he voted for popular Nigerian singer and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, BankyW, and he feels that the singer is the best candidate for the job.

The actor further requested Thaddeus for an Instagram live session in order to address concerns and respond to questions.

However, the lengthy letter earned him criticism online from many Nigerians who claimed the man merits the position and Banky W’s loss was due to his party.

Deyemi Apologises

In a post via his Instagram page on Friday evening, Deyemi apologized to Thaddeus, over his choice of words.

He wrote: “In the early hours of today, in the spirit of the season wrote an open letter to the HOR-elect of Eti-Osa Local Government area, Mr. Thaddeus Attah. I admit I could have chosen better words and I could have not allowed the frustration that I have felt about this past week to affect the message that I was trying to pass across.

“So I apologize to Mr. Attah and everyone who felt I was overreaching. I would now try to focus on the core of what I am saying so it’s clear and can’t be misconstrued in any way. I live in Eti-Osa”.
