2023: Top Governorship Contenders In Delta State

The political structure in Delta State might experience a change ahead of the 2023 governorship election with the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) working to seize power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

PDP has been ruling the state since the advent of the fourth republic in 1999, and would be hoping to sustain it structure in the state.

However, the two contending parties could get shocked with the presence of Labour Party (LP) in the state which won the just concluded presidential election in the state.

The presidential candidate of LP, Peter Obi polled the highest vote in the state and this could rub off on the governorship candidate of the party in the state.

– Omo-Agege was born on the 3rd of August, 1963

– Ovie Omo-Agege CFR is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who is currently the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate.

– He is the senator representing the Delta State Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian senate.

– Omo-Agege was first elected in 2015 into the 8th senate.

2. Governorship Candidate of the PDP (Sherrif Oborevwori)

– Oborevwori was born on the 19th of June, 1963.

– Sheriff Oborevwori is a Nigerian politician and incumbent Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.

– He is the representative of the Okpe State Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party.

3. Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party (Ken Pela)

– Ken Pela is a successful economist, investment banker, entrepreneur, and politician.
