NNNP Reacts To Governorship Election Postponement

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has rejected the presidential election results declared so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Naija News reports that the NNPP National Chairman, Professor Rufai Ahmed Alkali, made this known during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.

Alkali said the party called for the suspension of the collation of the presidential election results currently ongoing at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.

He claimed that the election was marred by various irregularities ranging from vote buying, violence, voters’ disenfranchisement, and Bimodal Voters’ Accreditation System (BVAS) malfunctioning, among others.

Alkali, therefore, called for total cancellation of the entire process, saying the election results declared so far did not reflect the wishes of Nigerians.

The NNPP stated that INEC has taken the country back to the pre-2014 era where ballot-snatching, vote buying, and connivance of security agents among other negativities was the order of the day.

Cancel Released 2023 Presidential Election Results – PDP Tells INEC

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has asked INEC to cancel the results of the presidential election released so far.

The National Spokesman of the party, Debo Ologunagba, made this known in a statement titled, “PDP To INEC: Halt Announcement Of Manipulated Results Now, Electoral Commission Pushing Nigerians To The Wall”.

Ologunagba said the party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has garnered more votes than his All Progressive Congress (APC) counterpart, Bola Tinubu, going by the results at the disposal of the party.

The party spokesman, therefore, said as a creation of the law, the electoral body must obey the Electoral Act 2022 and cancel the presidential election marred with irregularities.

He stated that it is very clear from the votes cast at the polling units across the country that Atiku substantially defeated Tinubu in line with the expressed aspiration and Will of Nigerians.
