Peter Obi To Attend Imo LP Governorship Flag-off Campaign

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, is the winner of Saturday’s presidential election conducted in Enugu State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Obi the winner as he polled a total of 428,640 votes to defeat other contenders.

It was learned that the LP flagbearer also won all 17 local government areas of the state in a landslide victory.

The collation officer of the presidential election in Enugu, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Umudike, Professor Maduebibisi Iwe, declared the results of the election.

Naija News gathered that his counterparts in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, scored 15,749 and 4772 votes, to emerge in second and third positions respectively.

The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, had a total of 1,808 votes to record the fifth position.

The collation officer disclosed that a total of 2,112,793 voters were registered for the election, while accredited voters for the election were 482,990.

Iwe noted that the total valid votes were 456,424, rejected votes stood at 12,467 and total votes cast were 468,891 respectively.

The results are APC – 4772, LP – 428,640, PDP – 15,749 and NNPP – 1808.
