The standard bearer of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has defeated his opponents in the polling units of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.

Babachir, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), dumped the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and supported Obi in protest against the same-faith ticket of the ruling party.

The LP flagbearer polled 302 votes in Jiga Jiga A polling unit of Banshika Ward in Hong Local Government area of Adamawa State, while the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, got 67 votes and Tinubu came third with 19 votes.

While at Jiga Jiga A polling unit, Obi polled 101 votes, while Atiku scored 21 votes and Tinubu polled 13 votes.
