The House of Representatives candidate of the Labour Party in the Isialangwa North and South Federal constituency, Ginger Onwusibe has been declared winner of the Saturday’s National Assembly election.

Naija News reports that the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Onwusibe as the House of Representatives member-elect for Isialangwa North and South Federal constituency.

Onwusibe, who is said to be a former Council Chairman, defeated the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu’s preferred candidate and his immediate past Chief of Staff, Professor Anthony Agbazuere.

Agbazuere, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) had a total of 13508 votes, while his opponent from the Labour Party defeated him with a total vote of 20,411.

Supporters of the Labour Party in the area are said to be jubilating and celebrating because their candidate Onwusibe floored Agbazuere even in his own local government area in the Isialangwa South.
