Labour Party chairmen in the 36 states of the federation have denied any crisis in the party’s leadership.

Naija News reports that the chairman of all the 36 state chairmen, as well as that of the FCT, Comrade Kehinde Rotimi, told pressmen in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Friday, that the party’s leadership is focusing on tomorrow’s polls and the reports making rounds is false.

Rotimi discredited and described as untrue a statement credited to the Gombe state chairman of the party, Mallam Abdullahi Sanni, who claimed the 36 chairmen of the Labour Party, were not pleased with the party’s flag bearer, Peter Obi.

He submitted that the party chairmen, Julius Abure is dissociated from the purported statement, while noting that the party’s lawyers have been contacted to take legal action on the said Sanni.

Rotimi, who is also the Labour Party chairman for Kwara State, cautioned that people should be careful because mischief makers would try to cause last-minute disunity within the party.

The Labour Party chieftain, who was said to be in the company of the Woman leader of the party, Hajia Mutiat Ishola and Engineer Adesina from the Ilorin West LGA of the state, asked the general public to disregard the report.

Rotimi said “We have the mandate of our 36 state chairmen and FCT to address this press conference. Our attention had been drawn to a statement by one Mallam Sanni.

“The statement, as credited to us is untrue, misleading, fallacious, unfounded and baseless and we want to disassociate ourselves from it. At no time did party chairmen meet to say we’re not satisfied with the leadership of our presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, and the national chairman of the party, Barrister Julius Abure.

“We want the general public to disregard the statement in its entirety. Even there is no forum of Labour Party chairmen as said. The person was not speaking on behalf of 36 state chairmen of the Labour Party and that the FCT. Labour Party has no crisis. We’re ready for the elections.

“And we’ve instructed our lawyers to take legal action against the said Mallam Sanni on the erroneous statement credited to him.”

Meanwhile, Naija News gathered on Thursday that the party’s chairmen in all the 36 states of the federation had come out to predict doom for Obi ahead of Saturday’s polls.

According to them, Obi can not win at polls on Saturday because he has sidelined all state chairmen and refused to mobilise for campaign activities.

They also claimed that Obi has no respect for the executives of the party and has neglected them to work with his cronies.

The Gombe State Labour Party chairman and co-ordinating chairman for the 36 States, Sani Abdulsalam, made the disclosure to pressmen in Abuja.

He said Obi’s act of neglect had tendencies to affect the party’s performance at the polls on Saturday, noting that he choose to work with cronies and support groups, saying he doesn’t trust the state chairmen to deliver.
