Police Speaks On Hundreds Of PVCs Found In Nnewi Forest By Hunter

The Anambra State Police Command has said that they are yet to verify the authenticity of a video clip on social media which alleged that some Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) were dumped in a forest in the Nnewi community.

The command made the announcement via a statement signed by the spokesperson of the command DSP, Tochukwu Ikanga.

Naija News recalls that a hunter had alleged that he had come upon some PVC’s abandoned in a forest.

Reacting, the command noted that the purported claim would be professionally handled.

Speaking further, Ikanga noted that they had not received any complaint from the concerned authority but would do a proper investigation into the video clip to ascertain it’s authenticity.

He explained that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng, had already ordered investigations into the video to unravel the circumstances surrounding the rumour and possibly arrest the suspects behind the Act.

Therefore, he said, the command is constrained to make further comments on the matter pending full investigation

He assured that any development concerning the matter would be made public.

The command appealed to residents to remain law abiding and report any suspicious character to the nearest police Station.
