Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye of P-Square music group, has reacted to the report that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, convinced supporters of the Labour Party (LP) to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

In a viral video shared, on his Twitter Page, some youths claimed they were all ‘Obidient’ until Wike told them to work for Tinubu.

Naija News recalls that a spokesman of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council, Daniel Bwala, during a recent interview on Arise TV, said Wike was also part of the reasons Peter Obi left the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) for the Labour Party, shortly before the primary elections.

According to him, there were initial deliberations of the party which tilted toward zoning the presidential ticket to the South but were thwarted after Wike refused to allow the South East to have it and the party’s leadership decided to throw it open for the Northern and Southern aspirants

For this reason, Obi decided to dump the main opposition party for LP where he emerged as the presidential candidate to contest against Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu.

Reacting to the video, Peter Okoye, a staunch Obi supporter urged the people of Rivers State to watch carefully over the self-interest of those convincing them to vote against the former governor of Anambra State.

He added that the only way to disappoint the opposition party is taking their anger to the polling unit and vote for Peter Obi.

He wrote: “My dear Rivers State/Portharcourt people! These are your enemies at work! Watch carefully, they said they are doing it for their own selfish interests! The only way you can disappoint these people here is by taking your anger to the polling unit and voting for @PeterObi of LP.”
