Neymar Hit By Injury Weeks Before His Sister’s Birthday

Paris Saint Germain are in a panic mode right now as one of their talismans, Neymar was stretched off in the game against Lille on Sunday.

Neymar was expected to lead the PSG team that will travel to Germany to take on Bayern Munich in the return leg of the Champions League round of 16 on March 8, 2023.

Recall that the first leg ended in a 1-0 defeat in Paris which means that PSG are condemned to beat Bayern in Germany by two goals to stand a chance of qualifying for the next round of the competition.

Unfortunately, Neymar is injured less than two weeks before the match. Even though the extent of the injury is not known yet, most of his critics are assuming that he got injured so that he can attend his sister’s birthday party.

Neymar’s sister Rafaella Santos’s birthday is on March 11 and since 2013 he has consecutively been injured in that period to celebrate the day with her. Even though he looked to be in pain on Sunday night, his critics could not but conclude that he decided to get injured for his sister’s birthday.

Note that after ten years of consistently celebrating with his sister on March 11 of every year, he missed the celebration last year as he decided to make himself available for a game against Bordeaux on the said date.

Hence, PSG fans would hope that Neymar’s latest injury won’t be so severe that he would miss the must-win Champions League return leg against Bayern. If he misses the game and then attends his sister’s birthday party two days later, the fans might not forgive him for a long while except PSG knock out Bayern which is almost impossible.
