The Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu on Monday submitted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu would get support from some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors.

Specifically, Kalu stated that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and his Abia State counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu would support Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.

He also listed some states including Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Anambra, and Enugu as locations where the APC candidate is guaranteed to get a sizable number of votes.

The Senate Chief Whip maintained that some aggrieved PDP Governors under the auspices of the G5 or Integrity Group will work for Tinubu’s victory at the polls on Saturday.

Kalu said this during a live appearance on Channels Television’s The 2023 Verdict.

“Tinubu is well liked by the North and is from the South-West and is going to get a [sizable] vote in Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Anambra and Enugu. And he’s going to have the support of Governor Wike of Rivers State, so we’re on track,” he said.

“My governor here, Okezie Ikepazu, will also support Tinubu. My senatorial district is going to give Tinubu the vote. The puncher to give the 34, 35 percent to be on the ballot.”

The former Abia State Governor predicted that “the G5 governors are also going to be a very big factor” in the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

The senator representing Abia North added that the internal crisis rocking the APC would not affect the party’s fortunes at the polls.

This is as he stated that the Governors are solidly behind Tinubu and just like it happened at the APC presidential primary election, the former Lagos State Governor would win the forthcoming election convincingly.

Tinubu is a good administrator who is “a relief to the headquarters of the entrepreneurs where I live in Lagos,” he said.

“All the presidential candidates live in Lagos; we all live there and we’re businessmen there, and Tinubu lived in the middle of the entrepreneurs of Nigeria.”
