The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied media reports announcing the suspension of its National Vice Chairman (North-east), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, over alleged anti-party activities.

Naija News earlier reported that Salihu was suspended for six months by Rumde Ward of Yola North local government area in Adamawa State over allegations of “gross abuse of office, conspiracy and acts typical of anti-party.

The suspension letter from the ward executives, addressed to the National Chairman of the party through the acting state chairman and the chairman APC Yola North local government area was jointly signed by the ward’s vice chairman, the secretary, and 16 other executive members of the party in the ward.

But in a letter by the APC Chairman, Rumde Ward, Abdulkadir Abdullahi addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the party distanced itself from the purported suspension.

Abdullahi said the virtues of the embattled APC chieftan have never been in doubt, adding that his spirit for party duty, resilience and capacity to listen to advice are there for all party members to see.

The letter reads; “The All Progressive Congress, Rumde Ward Working Committee, Yola North Local Government, Adamawa State wishes to distance itself from the purported suspension of the APC National Vice-Chairman Northeast, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, going viral on social media platforms.

“There can be no doubt about his many virtues, his spirit for party duty, resilience and capacity to listen to advice and so on.

“Attached is the signature of Rumde Ward Working Committee members passing a Vote of Confidence on The APC National Vice Chairman, Northeast”.
