Nigerians in the face of the hardship created by the cash crunch have been told not to be violent because of the current happenings.

Naija News reports that the humble plea comes from Nigerian veteran actor, Chidi Mokeme, who has asked Nigerians to desist from destroying bank facilities and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) across the federation.

The actor’s call comes as a sequel to the pockets of violent protest that has erupted in several states from angry Nigerians who are faced with the harsh naira crisis.

This platform understands that since Thursday when President Muhammadu Buhari gave a directive in a live broadcast that only N200 old notes would be acceptable until April 10, more violent protests have been reported in several places.

Hoodlums had also on Friday morning, stormed major roads in Mile-12, Ketu and Ojota areas, along Ikorodu Road, and Iyana-Ipaja all in the name of the protest against the cash crunch.

However, the actor took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to tell Nigerians they don’t need all that to express their anger.

Mokeme said all they need do is to protect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and go out to vote on Election day.

He said “No Burning Of ATM. No Burning Of Banks. No Burning Of Private/Public Properties. No Unnecessary Riots/Protests.

“Just Protect Your PVC, COME OUT On Election Day, And VOTE PETER OBI.

“Naija Go Better… It Is POssible. OBIdient. #PeterObi4President #ChidiSense #GwazieNdiYardiUnuo. (sic)”
