The English Football Association has launched an investigation after objects were thrown at Kevin de Bruyne during Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Kevin de Bruyne was attacked as he was leaving the pitch after he was taken off late in the game.

Anthony Taylor, the referee in charge of the game, may have mentioned it in his match report since the FA decided to take action on it.

Also, Arsenal claimed that they are investigating CCTV footage and will take harsh actions if the culprits are discovered.

An Arsenal spokesperson said: “This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”

De Bruyne contributed to two goals to help Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-1. The victory has taken City ahead of Arsenal on the league table due to their superior goals difference.

After the game, the Belgian midfielder took to his Instagram story to share a picture of when objects were thrown at him with the caption “beer anyone?”

De Bruyne also posted a picture of himself and a cup in the air which he captioned “thanks!”

During the top of the table clash between Arsenal and Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne was involved in a brawl with Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta who was a former assistant coach to Pep Guardiola at City.

Five minutes into the start of the second half, Arsenal’s Gabriel caused the ball to go out for a throw-in.

To frustrate the Manchester team, Arteta slowed down the action by trying to kick the ball away.

In reaction to that, the Belgian midfielder who was visibly irate shoved Mikel Arteta and retrieved the ball from him.

Kevin De Bruyne poked Arteta in the face after gaining possession of the ball to show his disgust with what the Arsenal manager tried to do.
