Elon Musk To Bid For Man United

Elon Musk is reportedly one of many billionaires planning to make a formal offer for Manchester United as the deadline for offers draws near.
Elon Musk is reportedly monitoring the situation and pondering whether to take advantage of any opportunities at Old Trafford, according to British publication Daily Mail.
According to Forbes, Musk is the second-richest person in the world with a staggering net worth of £157 billion.
The Red Devils’ owners, the Glazer family, decided to sell United in November 2022 days after Cristiano Ronaldo had an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he blasted the family for the poor management of the club.
The Raine Group, the bank overseeing the transaction, must receive formal bids from bidders on or before Friday, February 17 for further examination.
Although sources claim that a proposal of up to £4.5 billion could be adequate to purchase the team, United’s American owners reportedly sought to sell for between £6 billion and £8 billion.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in Britain and the CEO of INEOS, announced in January that he is attempting to take control of the team he supports, as well as investors from Saudi Arabia and Qatar will fiercely battle it out with Musk during the bidding war.
In 2022, Musk expressed interest in purchasing Man United via a tweet that read, “I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome.”
However, he later tweeted that the statement was a hoax, adding that “although, if it were any team, it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid.”
Even though Elon Musk is said to have lost over £150 billion since November due to the poor performance of the Tesla stock, paying for the Glazers’ asking price of over £6 billion is not expected to be an issue for the Twitter owner. Hence, it would not be a surprise if the South African-born American billionaire wins the bid.
