The presidential ambition of the flagbearer of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, could be in jeopardy as the SouthWest chapter of his party has reportedly collapsed its entire structure into the All Progressives Congress(APC).

Obi on the 25th of February, 2023 will be contesting against the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu and several other candidates.

The Southwest LP chairman, Omotoso Banji, led the party leadership to collapse its structure in Akure, Ondo State capital, according to The Nation.

Other leaders of LP that defected were Omowumi Olosola, Ondo Secretary of LP, and Sola Alabi amongst others.

Their movement into APC was facilitated by the National Coordinator of the South West Agenda For Asiwaju Tinubu (SWAGA) 2023, Dayo Adeyeye and other members of the group

While speaking at the programme, Omotosho, said leaders of Labour Party decided to quit the party because it is not viable and lacks the clout to win the 2023 elections.
