Kevin Durant, a two-time NBA champion, has moved from Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns.

Kevin Durant who is 34-year-old is expected to improve the Phoenix Suns’ starting lineup, which already features Deandre Ayton, first-round pick Chris Paul, and All-Star guard Devin Booker.

TJ Warren was also acquired by the Suns, who also gave the Nets Mikal Bridges, and Cam Johnson, in exchange.

On the other hand, Russell Westbrook has been acquired by the Utah Jazz from the Los Angeles Lakers.

After two difficult seasons with the franchise, the point guard left the Lakers in a three-team, eight-player trade before Thursday’s trade deadline.

After joining the Nets in 2019, Durant, who is considered one of the best scorers of all time, experienced four trying seasons.

The diminutive forward played just one playoff series with Brooklyn before first demanding a trade last season due to an Achilles injury.

Despite Durant collaborating alongside superstar guards Kyrie Irving and James Harden, the Nets still struggled. Harden left for the Philadelphia 76ers last year, and Irving joined the Dallas Mavericks this week.

With the Golden State Warriors, Durant previously won back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018, both times being voted the Finals MVP.

After losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals of 2021, the Suns will now be viewed as serious contenders for the championship. In the Western Conference, they are presently ranked sixth.

The Nets are still in the running for the playoffs despite being sixth in the Eastern Conference. In the same transaction with the Suns, they also signed Jae Crowder, who they later traded to the Bucks.
