PDP Crisis: G5 Governors Push For National Convention, Make Fresh Demand For Southwest Chairman

A former House of Representative candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, has slammed the party’s G5 governors, saying they are behaving like gods.

According to him, the G5 governors are petty, unpatriotic and behave like gods within the party.

Naija News understands that Emmanuel Fayose, who happens to be the brother to former Ekiti governor, Ayo Fayose, faulted the G5 for the persistent crisis in the PDP saying without them the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, would win the elections with a landslide victory.

Fayose told Nigerian Tribune that the G5 Governors should be sanctioned by the PDP because they are not above the party.

The PDP chieftain reteirated his support for Atiku,  saying the PDP presidential hopeful is the only person of all the candidates that can take Nigeria out of all the current situations it’s facing.

While appealing to the electorates to come out en masse to vote for Atiku at the polls, Fayose boasted that he remains the best man for the post of president.

He also condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly putting the country into ruins in its 8 years of ruling, noting that all it has done for the people is put them through suffering, insecurity and a bad economy.

The G5 governors are the five aggrieved PDP governors who have refused to support Atiku for the forthcoming election.

They have insisted that before the group can support Atiku, the PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, must resign his position to give way to a candidate of southern extraction.

The group led by the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has refused to bulge to any form of pressure and reconciliation until their demands are met as they claimed they are fighting for equity and justice within the party.
