The women wing of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has joined others to commiserate with the party’s deputy governorship candidate in the state, Funke Akindele over the death of her mother, Dr R. B. Adebanjo-Akindele.

Naija News reports that the Lagos PDP women leader, Alhaja Idowu Akinsanya, in a statement, described the death of Akindele’s mother as a rude shock to the women wing of the party.

According to her, Akindele’s mother demise came at the time all the women in the party needed her most as the elections draw nearer.

She prayed for God’s strength for Akindele to bear the loss and appealed to all PDP members to keep praying her in in this difficult moment.

She said that the party’s governorship candidate in the state, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (JANDOR) and Akindele had been working hard to make sure PDP wins the election and she is sure Akindele’s mother’s death would not discourage the campaign toward ensuring victory for the party.

Akinsanya also pledged that the women in the party would move closer to Akindele and support her vision of giving back to the women in society and the less privileged if she emerged as the deputy governor.

The woman leader said “We lost her at this period that all the women in Lagos needed her most.

“Lagos women will stand firm and throw their weight behind Jandor and Funke Akindele during this crucial period.

“This will not weaken their effort or deter them from the dream ahead, but rather will make them stronger and more focused.”
