2023: Sokoto Deputy Governor Resigns From PDP

The Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammad Dan Iya has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a few days before the general elections.

Naija News learnt that Muhammad, on Wednesday, handed the leadership of the ruling party in the state his resignation letter.

Iya in the letter dated 8th February 2023, addressed it to his Ward Chairman in Kware, Kware Local Government.

The letter spotted by our correspondent was titled “Letter of Withdrawal from the Peoples Democratic Party.”

Iya in the letter did not state the reason for dumping the ruling party in the state, a few days before the election.

He also did not disclose the political party he would be joining after abandoning the ruling party head of the 2023 general elections.

Iya took out time to appreciate PDP for the opportunities given to him to serve in various capacities while in the party.

He wished the party his best regards in their future endeavours.

The resignation letter reads, “I write to notify you of the withdrawal of my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from 8th February 2023.

“I appreciate the opportunities given to me, which made me serve in various capacities under the PDP.
