Al Hilal Players To Get $1 Million Each If They Win Club World Cup

Nigerian forward, Odion Ighalo and other Al-Hilal players will receive one million Saudi Riyals (£222,000) each from billionaire Saudi prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud for reaching the Club World Cup final.

The Saudi Prince additionally guaranteed each Al Hilal player $1,000,000 if they win the FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday.

This was indicated in a statement that was posted early on Wednesday on the NPFL Updates Facebook page.

Quoting a Twitter user, @jacobsBen, the post stated, “Saudi billionaire Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud has pledged one million Saudi Riyal (£222k) to each Al-Hilal player for reaching the Club World Cup Final and a further one million if they win the tournament.”

“Al-Hilal beat Copa Libertadores Champions, Flamengo in the semi-finals to reach the final, and will now face the winner from the Al Ahly of Egypt and Real Madrid match in the final.”

As mentioned in the statement, Al-Hilal faced Brazilian club, Flamengo in the semi-finals stage of the Club World Cup in Morocco on Tuesday night. Even though the Brazilian side was seen as favourites to scale through, the Saudi club beat the team 3-2 to book a date with either Real Madrid or Al Ahly.

The second semi-finals match which is between the Spanish La Liga giants and the Egyptian giants will kick off in Morocco at 20:00 later tonight.

The winner of the match will face Odion Ighalo and his teammates at 20:00 on Saturday, February 11.
