Dozy Mmobuosi: Nigerian Billionaire Who Wants To Buy Sheffield United Allegedly Has Fake Airline

A Nigerian billionaire, Dozy Mmobuosi who wants to buy Sheffield United is allegedly being questioned about his airline company.

Dozy Mmobuosi who is heavily linked to Sheffield United takeover, reportedly has an airline company known as Tingo Airlines which does not exist.

A report by the Athletic claimed that there is no evidence that a Tingo Airlines flight has ever taken place.

Even though the company is formed in England and announced a share capital of £1 billion in August 2019, there is no evidence of assets or published accounts.

Mmobuosi was the only stockholder identified in the ‘ghost company’s’ paperwork.

Tingo had a registered address in Hertfordshire, however, it was allegedly “invalid or ineffectual and was faked,” and it was taken down in December 2019.

Also, the business’ Instagram account has a link to an invalid website. And images of an Airbus A321 appear to have been photoshopped.

The offer from Mmobuosi to buy Sheffield United is currently being reviewed by the EFL. And the English Football League is looking for answers to learn where he made his money from.

The BBC claims that the Nigerian and Prince Abdullah, the current owner of the English club, have been discussing the potential takeover of the club.

Ahead of Sheffield United and Rotherham match on Saturday, Sheffield are currently in second place in the Championship.

Sheffield are unquestionably on track to return to the Premier League with a 10-point gap to third place.

Hence, if Dozy Mmobuosi can clear all doubts or suspicions concerning the source of his wealth, he could be named the new owner of the club and subsequently become the first African to own an English professional club.
