2023: Saraki Reveals Why Peter Obi’s Administration Will Be Disastrous

Former president of the Nigerian Senate and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Bukola Saraki, has revealed that it would be disastrous for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, if he wins the 2023 election.

Naija News understands that Saraki said this while speaking during a live interview on Arise TV on Monday, January 16, 2023.

According to the former lawmaker, Labour Party has no candidate to fill up the parliamentary seats, hence may have an imbalance in governance if the party wins the presidential poll.

Saraki argued further that Obi’s party is without a majority in the National Assembly; hence the relationship between the two arms of government is likely to affect good governance.

“Don’t forget that in Nigeria, we run a presidential system of government. When you go to the ballot box on the day of elections, you are voting for a party.

“A party where from day 1, you don’t have candidates for the parliamentary seats, already there is a recipe for disaster because you know that the executive and the legislature are not going to have the majority”, the former Governor of Kwara State noted.

2023: Keyamo Speaks On Peter Obi’s Candidacy

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has mocked the Labour Party presidential candidate, saying that it was impossible for Peter Obi to win the 2023 presidential race.

Naija News reports that Keyamo took to Twitter on Monday to debunk a report alleging that he said the APC was taken aback by Obi’s popularity.

According to him, the said report is fake news and APC never said so. Instead, Keyamo noted that Obi stepping into the Presidential Villa could be compared to a camel passing through the eye of a needle.

He wrote: “FAKE NEWS ALERT! A certain quote making the rounds on social/m where I purportedly said, “We never saw Peter Obi coming, he took us all by surprise, the only mistake we made in APC bla bla” is fake news. Obi entering the Villa is like a camel passing through the eye of a needle.”
