2023: Ortom Expresses Confident In BVAS, Assures Electorates Their Votes Would Count
The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has expressed much confidence in the introduction of the Bimodal Voting Accreditation System (BVAS) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the forthcoming elections.
The governor said with the INEC technology, it is impossible for anyone to attempt to rig the elections, therefore electorates should not be fearful to come out and cast their votes on election day.
Ortom gave the assurance on Monday when he addressed PDP supporters at campaign rallies held at Tarka, Buruku and Gboko Local Government Areas of the state, Naija News learnt.
He told electorates at the event not to hesitate to come out and vote for candidates of their choice at the polls because their votes would count.
Ortom during the campaign rallies was optimistic that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win all its elections in the State.
According to him, the acceptability enjoyed by the PDP is evidence the party would win its governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly seats by a landslide victory.
It was also gathered that there was a mass defection of members from other parties into the PDP at the various LGA campaigns that were held.
Ortom also appealed to the people to vote massively for PDP candidates in the state to promote teamwork in order to sustain the fight against the oppression of Benue and its people and all other injustices meted out to them.
He charged Benue people to shun saboteurs and traitors in the APC who were conniving with enemies of the state to mortgage the future of the State by surrendering our ancestral lands to them.
Speaking about his senatorial ambition, the governor noted that he had given his all in protecting the interest of the people of Benue and when elected to the Senate, he will continue to collaborate with his colleagues in the National Assembly to keep giving his best.
