Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has taken to her social media on Saturday to clear the air on her health status.

Naija News reported that Johnson recently opened up on a cancer scare she had that made doctors place her on medication for the rest of her life.

The 38-year-old made the revelation while hosting veteran actress Joke Silva on her cooking show, Mercy’s Menu, published on Thursday.

Speaking to the veteran actress, she said: “I had a cancer scare and I had like my thyroid removed. And it was like a journey for us because we had kids.

“My last was six months at that time and then we kept on saying okay, we have to understand that this is the new us, let’s go get the surgery done.

“And then we got there, they said I was going to be on medication for the rest of my life and it was a reality that we had to sit down.’

I Don’t Have Cancer

However, taking to her Instagram page, the mother of four noted that people misinterpreted her condition in the earlier video of her speaking about her condition.

She further stressed that all she had was a cancer scare, adding that she had problems with her thyroid and her doctor felt it was something serious.

She maintained that she doesn’t have cancer and is perfectly okay.

She said: “Hi guys! ok so first of all I must thank you so much for all of you who have been calling and sending messages and prayers, thank you, I do appreciate it so much but I DO NOT HAVE CANCER!

“I noticed that a clip from my TV show, Mercy’s Menu has been flying around and I think it was cut. They cut the clip. I said I had a cancer scare means that I have this sweeping on my neck (shows her neck), You can see the line there and my doctor felt it was something serious. I had problems with my thyroid, I am perfectly okay.

“Thank you so much for all of your calls and your messages, all these phones have been buzzing like crazy, I am perfectly fine and I DO NOT HAVE CANCER. I’M PERFECTLY OKAY. So thank you so much for checking up on me, and thank you for all the messages. Go back and watch the clip, it was completely misunderstood, I’m fine!

“I do not have cancer in Jesus name! Thank you guys, bye!”
