The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has reached out to his counterpart in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu who recently confirmed he has tested positive to COVID-19.

The former Vice President further wished the ADC candidate a quick recovery.

The statement reads: “My heart goes out to Dumebi Kachikwu, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), over reports of his positive test to COVID-19. As humans and Nigerians, we stand by you now and wish you a quick recovery. -AA”

Naija News recalls Kachikwu in a statement on Friday confirmed that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

The ADC flagbearer disclosed that he is now in isolation and had cancelled all public events till he received a negative report.

Kachikwu called on Nigerians to be vigilant and not to take the virus for granted as infection rates have risen rapidly all over the world in the last few weeks.

The ADC standard bearer asked the federal government to increase testing and take all necessary precautions not to spread the virus.

He also warned that political rallies should not become COVID spreaders and reverse the gains made in combating the virus.
