'I'm Nobody’s Toy' - Achimugu Slams CCB Over Unofficial Invitation

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, will according to sources, not speak on allegations of corruption allegations against him by his former media aide, Michael Achimugu.

According to a member of his campaign, the former Vice President will focus on seeking support from the Nigerian electorate and so “ignore any issue that will take his time away from real engagement.”

Recall, Achimugu had on Monday urged Nigerians not to vote for Atiku for the sake of their children after leaking an alleged recorded phone conversation between him and former vice president, where the PDP candidate was heard admitting to collecting N100 million from former Plateau State Governor, Joshua Dariye through fraudulent means.

The PDP flag bearer returned to the country on Friday morning after being away for nearly two weeks amidst corruption allegations in company of Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau; embattled PDP chieftain, Raymond Dokpesi; and House Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu.

After repeated attempts to get an official reaction to the fraud allegation with his spokespersons, a member of his team told the Whistler that “no one has been authorised to speak,” and “I don’t think the candidate would have time to speak on apparent lie from a cheap blackmailer.”

According to him, “The trip to the UK was a success, the aim was achieved.

“Next up is to receive smaller parties that have approached us for a merger to ensure the PDP wins next month’s election.”

Speaking about the bids and names of some of the smaller parties poising to join the PDP, he said, “In due course, you would hear. You might be the first to hear.

“Don’t mind the lie that these parties want to join the APC, it’s actually the PDP they want to join and the candidate is back, so action continues till election time.”
