Brighton’s Leandro Trossard Dropped Ahead Of Liverpool Clash Over Poor Attitude

Brighton manager, Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that he has dropped his player Leandro Trossard ahead of Liverpool’s game.

Coach De Zerbi said Leandro Trossard would not feature in the league game against Liverpool on Saturday due to his poor attitude.

In the pre-match press conference on Friday, De Zerbi revealed that Trossard left training earlier than scheduled without permission after he was informed that he would not play in the FA Cup victory at Middlesbrough last week.

The coach said: “He left the session without saying anything to me. And it’s not good.

“I spoke with him and I explained this attitude, behavior, I don’t like.”

Trossard, 28, has seven goals for Brighton so far this season, making him the club’s joint top-scorer. He scored a hat-trick against Liverpool in their season-opening match at Anfield.

Although he has played in two of Brighton’s five games during the World Cup break, he has been absent from both of their most recent meetings against Everton and Middlesbrough.

The winger, who moved to Brighton from Genk in Belgium in 2019, has been linked to a transfer away from the Seagulls this month, according to rumors.

Coach Zerbi continued: “I am open with him to take a step back and listen to him but he has to understand with me, I want only players who work hard and play for the team 100%.

“I don’t know about the transfer market if he wants to change teams or not.”

If Brighton defeats Liverpool on Saturday at the Amex Stadium at 15:00 GMT, they would move up to seventh place in the Premier League table.
