Netherlands’ Wout Weghorst will spend the rest of the season on loan at Manchester United.

Wout Weghorst who spent the first part of the season on loan at Besiktas will travel to Manchester for a physical before the transfer can be finalized.

His loan deal with the Turkish club side will end after an agreement has been reached.

In 16 league appearances with Besiktas, Weghorst led his team with eight goals and four assists.

On January 7, his most recent goal helped Besiktas defeat Kasimpasa 2-1, and after the game, he appeared to wave goodbye to the supporters.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, is now able to meet the squad’s need for a striker by bringing in a fellow Dutchman thanks to the move.

In the Netherlands’ World Cup quarterfinal against Argentina last month, Weghorst scored twice in stoppage time.

Additionally, he scored in the penalty shootout against Argentina. Unfortunately, his team failed to progress to the next round.

After joining Burnley for £12 million from Wolfsburg a year ago, the 30-year-old made 20 appearances and scored twice. However, his contribution was insufficient to keep the Clarets from being demoted to the Championship.

Weghorst might be registered in time to play in Saturday’s Manchester derby match against Manchester City at Old Trafford if there are no complications.
