Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta was filled with praise for his forward, Eddie Nketiah who scored two goals to help the club defeat Oxford United in the FA Cup third-round clash on Monday night.

Eddie Nketiah has stepped up in the absence of injured Gabriel Jesus, scoring five goals in his past six appearances.

Nketia scored two goals in the game against Oxford United in the 70th and 76th minutes after Mohamed Elneny gave Arsenal the lead in the 63rd minute at Kassam Stadium.

The 3-0 away win over the League One team has sent Arsenal to the fourth round of the FA Cup campaign. This means that the Gunners will have to beat Manchester City to progress further in the competition.

Manchester City will host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium at 16:00 on January 28, for the 4th round of the competition.

After the victory over Oxford United, Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta described Eddie Nketiah as a great finisher.

The Spanish tactician said: “He showed great composure. He’s a great finisher, with the timing of his runs as well.

“He showed his quality and his work rate is getting better and better. I’m really happy with him.

“We have only one [striker] and to go many months before Gaby is back it’s not easy, but we have to get the most out of the players that we have at the moment.”
