Unknown Gunmen Murder Man Two Days To His Wedding

A man identified as Izuchukwu Charles Igweka has been killed by unknown gunmen, two days before his traditional wedding in Anambra State.

The deceased was preparing to tie the knot with his fiancée Chinenye Linda Chukwuchekwa, on January 7, in Ezekwuabo-Otolo Nnewi.

According to DAILY POST, Izuchukwu was killed in Ukpor Town, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state around 10 pm on Wednesday night, January 5, 2023.

One of his friends, Obi Chibuike Charles took to social media to pay tribute as he recalled his last moments with Izuchukwu.

He wrote: “It’s very hard to type goodbye bro but God knows the best, Nigeria has happened to you and Nigeria has failed you.

“Full of life yesterday, today you’re being laid to mother earth. Your traditional marriage is coming up next tomorrow which is 7th.

“We planned on how to shut down as usual but they came yesterday and took your life forcefully…Rest well my brother.

Seven Die In Car Accident

Meanwhile, seven persons have reportedly died after attending the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally.

Naija News recalls that the APC held its presidential rally in Kano on Wednesday. The party was greeted by a mammoth crowd who declared their support for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

However, sources informed Daily Trust that after the rally, seven people died in a motor accident along the Kano-Zaria road.

A resident of the town, Tukur Lawan told the aforementioned publication that the accident occurred around 6:00 pm when their Golf car collided with an oil tanker. Ten people were said to be aboard when the accident occurred.
