Shettima Reacts To Tinubu's Decision To Remove Fuel Subsidy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, has disclosed that his principal, Bola Tinubu, is healthier than him.

Naija News reports that Shettima made this known during a live Facebook discussion programme, with Nigerian journalist, Jaafar Jaafar alongside Bulama Bukarti, Nasir Zango, and Abba Hikima.

This is coming amidst the speculations and concern over the health condition of the former governor of Lagos state, with many people claiming he is unfit to be president.

However, Shettiama, during the interview, cleared the air over the controversies trailing Tinubu’s health ahead of the February election.

According to him, Bola Tinubu is hale and hearty, unlike him, who is suffering from diabetes and hypertension.

He noted that Tinubu is physically and mentally fit to be Nigerian president as leadership skills require mental work and not physical strength like unskilled labour.

He said: “Let me tell you clearly that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is hale and hearty. Politics aside, he is physically and mentally fit to be Nigerian president.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is even healthier than me as I have diabetes and hypertension, which he has none. Even the early Parkinson’s disease people talked about is just lack of sleep. Once he gets enough sleep, he will be asymptomatic.

“Leadership is not like unskilled labour of carrying bags of cement. It’s more of mental work than physical. Former Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Daniel arap Moi of America, Algeria and Kenya respectively led their countries through economic prosperity while on wheelchairs.”
