No Worshipper Was Kidnapped By Bandits In Zamfara Mosque - Police

The Delta State Police Command has debunked trending reports that a medical doctor in the state was killed by relatives of a patient because he refused to attend to him without a police report.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command Bright Edafe while confirming the doctor’s death, however, said contrary to trending reports, suspected cultists are the ones responsible for the doctor’s death.

Some earlier reports claimed the doctor, identified as Uyi Iluobe was killed by relatives of his deceased patient in Delta State.

The Doctor was said to have been attacked with a gun while consulting with his other patients in his private clinic on New Year’s Eve.

It was said that relatives of the deceased patient had earlier sent death threats to the doctor and his hospital after he requested a police report before giving medical assistance for the patient’s suspected gunshot injuries.

However, in the wake of the trending reports, Edafe said it was cultists who stormed the clinic and killed the medical doctor, not the family members of a deceased patient as been circulated.

The Police spokesperson via his Twitter account on Tuesday said: “The Nigerian Medical Association visits CP Delta over the murder of Dr Uyi Iluobe by suspected cultists who came into the hospital in Oghara pretending to be patients and shot him while he was attending to them.

“He was not killed by the family of any dead patient as being alleged, please.”
