Popular Praise Singer, Rarara Dragged To Court Over Comments On Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has narrated how an armoured vehicle gifted to him helped him survive a bomb attack in Kaduna State in 2014.

Recall that at the time of the attack, an aide of the president said the bomber, who drove in a Toyota Sienna vehicle, rammed into Buhari’s convoy and detonated the explosive-laden vehicle.

While Buhari survived the attack unhurt, his vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, and another one behind it were badly damaged, and three of his security aides were injured and rushed to hospital.

In a documentary titled ‘Essential Muhammadu Buhari’, aired on Sunday, the President said the former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, gave him the armoured vehicle which helped him survive the attack.

According to President Buhari, Kwankwaso said he should use the vehicle because he believed the competition he was going into involved people who would like to eliminate him (Buhari).

Buhari said the bomb blast happened when he was traveling with his convoy along the Kawo market area of Kaduna state to Kano for his campaign.

The Nigerian leader said his convoy was badly affected by the multiple blasts which resulted in the death of scores of people.

Buhari said: “I think Kwankwaso was being generous. He gave me an armored Land Rover vehicle.

“He said I should use it because he believed the competition I was going into involved people who would like to eliminate me.

“I was going to Kano from Kaduna in that jeep and a vehicle wanted to overtake us but my escort stopped them and they detonated the bomb.

“When I looked, I saw pieces of human beings. None of us in the vehicle were injured. But somehow I saw blood on me because of the number of people killed outside by the bomb.
