I'm Not Envious Of Peter Obi's Popularity- Sowore

The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has knocked former president, Olusegun Obasanjo over the endorsement of the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi, ahead of the general election.

Naija News earlier reported that Obasanjo, in a New Year message titled “My Appeal to all Nigerians, particularly young Nigerians”, endorsed Obi to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The former Nigerian leader described Peter Obi as a needle with thread attached to it from North and South and he may not get lost.

Obasanjo’s action sparked reactions across rival political camps and party chieftains with the All Progressives Congress describing it as a worthless political move, adding that it would not affect the ambition of its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

The Peoples Democratic Party also made a mockery of Obasanjo, saying that its presidential candidate is the most competent.

Reacting on Monday via a Twitter post, Omoyele Sowore described Obasanjo’s action as an endorsement of failure.

According to him, Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi shows his attempt to ruin the country, adding he would rather be satisfied by the people’s endorsement than the former president.

He said: “Obasanjo’s repeated endorsement of @Peter Obi shows once again that the overrated three-time Nigerian ruler fetishises the ruination of Nigeria.

“Failure endorsing Failure. For us, we crave and are satisfied with the endorsements of the people”
