He Gave Nigeria His Best, And Died On His Feet - Northern Elders Mourn Obiozor

The late President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof George Obiozor has been described as a great Nigerian who gave his best during his lifetime.

The description was given by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) in a statement on Friday by its Director, Publicity and Advocacy, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.

The forum added that Obiozor served with distinction and honour in the search for solutions to contemporary challenges facing the country, stating that it would be difficult to replace him.

This was contained in a condolence message by NEF in which the members prayed that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo would find a leader capable of continuing the inspirational leadership offered by Obiozor during his lifetime.

The statement reads: “Northern Elders Forum is saddened by the demise of President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ambassador George Obiozor.

“He was a great Nigerian whose life captured the truism that most of us can serve the nation and our cultural identities with distinction and honour in the search for solutions to its multiple contemporary challenges.

“It is even sadder that Ambassador Obiozor died when he was leading his organization towards a historic rapprochement with the rest of Nigeria.

“It will be difficult to fill the shoes left be Ambassador Obiozor, but Northern Elders Forum prays that the organisation will find a leader who will continue with his inspirational leadership.”

Naija News recalls the death of Obiozor was confirmed in a statement released by the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma on Wednesday night.
