Burna Boy Reacts To Pele’s Death

Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has reacted to the death of Brazilian football legend, Pele.

Naija News reports that the three times World Cup winner who was hospitalised at the Albert Einstein Israelita Hospital in Sao Paulo shortly before Christmas died on Thursday at the age of 82.

There were reports that the 82-year-old was having cardiac issues and medical staff were concerned that his chemotherapy treatment was not having the expected results.

However, the Associated Press on Thursday night confirmed that the three times World Cup winner is dead.

Naija News reports that Pele won the World Cup three times in 1958, 1962 and 1970.

The statement reads, “Brazilian soccer legend Pelé, winner of record 3 World Cups and standard-bearer for ‘the beautiful game,’ has died at 82.”

Reacting to the development, Burna Boy via his Twitter page mourned the legend.

He wrote: “RIP Pele. A man with a strong legacy that will be remembered FOREVER. Legends Never Die they are always Remembered in the hearts of the People.”
