A call has gone out to the Ogun State Government to work towards improving the healthcare system in the state.

Naija News reports that Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo made the call when he decried the burdened state of the health centre in his village on Tuesday.

Obasanjo lamented that about 40 communities depend on the Ibogun Olaogun health centre located in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State for their health needs.

The former president made the call during the yearly Ibogun Olaogun Day ceremony held at the community on Tuesday.

He said the health centre in Ibogun needs the attention of the Ogun State government to make good health care available to residents.

According to him “About 40 communities patronise the existing health centre, while the facility has been overstretched. The health centre needs State government attention.”

Hitherto, the president of Ibogun Olaogun Community Development Association, Olatunji Okunade, also appealed to the state governor, Dapo Abiodun to upgrade the Ibogun health centre to a General hospital, so it can effectively serve the health care needs of the people in the area.

The Balogun Owu, while speaking at the ceremony, appreciated donors for their support for the ongoing new town hall and palace projects in the community giving his words that the projects would be pursued vigorously and donations would be spent judiciously to complete the projects.
