Anambra State-born billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze has come under fire online following his comment on the presidential ambition of the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi.

Naija News earlier reported that Eze dissociated himself from Obi’s ambition while speaking at the occasion of the 2022 Ofala festival of HRH Igwe (Dr.) Robert Eze, the traditional ruler of Ukpo in Dunukofia local government area of Anambra State.

The billionaire stated that he asked the Labour Party presidential candidate not to waste his money on the 2023 election because he would not win.

Eze also tipped Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to become President of Igbo extraction, stating he already has a presidential candidate he is supporting for the 2023 Presidency.

However, Eze’s comments have generated several reactions online with supporters of the LP flagbearer disagreeing with the billionaire.

See some of the reactions below.

@drpenking wrote: “Arthur Eze has distanced himself from Peter Obi’s ambition just like Charles Soludo. It might seem odd but this gladdens my heart. It goes a long way to prove that Peter Obi is not an Igbo or Anambra project. He is a Nigeria project. Vote Peter Obi for a better Nigeria.”

@C_FrancisArinze wrote: “Mr. Arthur Eze’s comment on Peter Obi is a clear sign that the 2023 election will be a tussle between the poor and the rich, the youth and elders. If our Nigerian youths fail to take back their country in 2023, they will experience the worst suppression ever.”

@peekaymila wrote: “Same Arthur Eze who declared that Buhari will hand over to the Igbos after his second term? It’s sad. The Igbos are the biggest barriers to their political potential. Thank God Peter Obi is not a regional candidate.”

@Kelly_CFC1 wrote: “Arthur Eze is a very wicked political godfather, tried to return our Anambra to the era of godfatherism in 2017 but we said no. Just look at the oat/ agreement below. Both he, Soludo, and Atiku will fail.”

@uzomaduke wrote: “Now it’s becoming very clear why Soludo was against obi. This a plan between this Arthur Eze and Soludo. Soludo wants to be president after his tenure as a governor. He is jealous of Obi.”

@aai_austin wrote: “Peter Obi spoke up against oil thieves. Arthur Eze is an oil mogul.🤔 Are you surprised all the cabals are against him? Connect the dots na.”

@cchukudebelu wrote: “Left to Arthur Eze, Peter Obi would never have been Anambra State Governor. Peter Obi has fought people like Arthur Eze all his political life, and won.

@itzz_blitz1 wrote: “The corrupt elites even from the South East not endorsing Peter obi has proven that Peter obi’s Political ideology of putting the masses first is a threat to them. We all know how Arthur Eze made his ill-gotten wealth.”

@afrisagacity wrote: “With Arthur Eze’s latest outburst against Peter Obi, I hope you now understand that it’s a full-blown war between ordinary Nigerians and the elite class. If you think it’s a tea party to wrestle power from a clique of the oppressive ruling class, you’re not ready.”
