Former House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara has been lauded for his relentless fight for justice, equity and inclusiveness.

Naija News reports that the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, appreciated the lawmaker for his efforts in the nation’s democracy while felicitating with him on the occasion of his 55 birthday celebration.

Saraki in a statement on Monday noted that the celebrant (Dogara) has earned his place as “one of the great leaders and political minds in this democratic dispensation.”

While he described the celebrant as his “brother and friend,” Saraki appreciated him for his steadfastness and courage.

Naija News recalls that both Saraki and Dogara were elected in 2015 on the platform All Progressives Congress (APC) and assumed the exalted 003 and 004 positions the same year.

But Saraki went back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), before the 2019 elections when he lost his re-election bid.

Dogara, on the other hand also joined the PDP then went back to the APC and then back to the PDP because of APC’s Muslim-Muslim 2023 ticket of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
