Peter Obi Speaks On Mammoth Crowd At Bayelsa Rally
The Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has commended the people of Bayelsa State for coming out en masse in the campaign rally held in the state.
Naija News earlier reported that Obi and his vice presidential candidate, Ahmed Datti alongside other LP chieftains stormed Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital on Friday, December 23, 2022, for their campaign rally.
Amidst the mockery that followed the low turnout of supporters in Kogi and Port Harcourt, a large number of supporters thronged the campaign venue to drum support for Obi and Datti.
In a post shared on Twitter, Peter Obi expressed appreciation to residents of the state while describing the reception as robust.
He also thanks former President, Goodluck Jonathan, traditional rulers, and churches for the unfettered show of support.
He wrote: “A huge salute to the Spirit of Bayelsa. Thanks to the Bayelsans for a warm and robust reception.
“Thanks to President @GEJonathan, PANDEF, the Traditional Rulers Council, the Churches and sundry for the unfettered show of support”.
Wike Reacts To Accusation Of Plotting To Kill Atiku’s Ally
Meanwhile, the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has denied claims that he sent assassins to kill a former Senator representing Rivers South-East, Lee Maeba.
Wike, who spoke at the commissioning of the Bori-Kono Road in the state on Friday, said he has never adopted violence to achieve anything in his political career.
The governor said it was unfortunate that the likes of Maeba, who is the Director General of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation in Rivers state, could be accusing him of violence.
Wike, however, wondered why the former Senator would allege that he sent assassins to invade his house and kill him and his family.
