Harry Kane missed a penalty against France that destroyed England’s World Cup hopes, but Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte, isn’t concerned about the striker.

In their quarterfinal match against France, England captain Harry Kane converted one penalty kick but missed another with six minutes remaining as England fell short 2-1.

During the World Cup in Qatar, Kane, who took home the Golden Boot award in the 2018 edition, scored twice before France knocked out England.

Coach Antonio Conte Of Tottenham Is Not Worried That Harry Kane Missed Crucial Penalty In Qatar

Conte said: “Honestly I am not worried about him. I saw him very well in these two days with us.

“We’re talking about a world-class striker.”

The coach added: “In football, you can have exciting moments and you can also have a moment where you are a bit disappointed because you missed a second penalty. The first he scored.”

Conte was a member of the Italy team that lost the 1994 World Cup final against Brazil on penalties, even though he did not participate in the contest.

“When I was a player I never missed a penalty because I didn’t kick,” he said. “Never, because I was a real disaster at it. But with a penalty, I lost a World Cup against Brazil and you live in this moment. You are disappointed.

“For sure the first period you are sad, but then you know that you have to move on. Football allows you to have other chances to enjoy football.”

Richarlison, a teammate of Harry Kane’s at Tottenham, has a hamstring injury that will keep him out for another three to four weeks, according to Conte. He sustained it during Brazil’s World Cup quarterfinal loss to Croatia.

Tottenham Hotspur will resume their Premier League campaign against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on December 26, 2022. The game is scheduled to kick off at 13:30.
