Six Things You Didn’t Know About Comedian Peteru

The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning, following the death of fast-rising comedian, Tobi Owomoyela, popularly known as Peteru.

This publication earlier reported that Peteru who is a household name in comedy circles due to his unique delivery in mimicking people, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, as a result of colon cancer.

In this article, Naija News highlights six things you probably didn’t know about the comedian.

1. Peteru hails from Ondo State but was born and bred in the ancient city of Ibadan.

2. He started his career as a dancer, singer, and Master of Ceremony (MC) before he ventured into comedy.

3. Tobi Owomoyela is a graduate of purchasing and supply from the polytechnic of Ibadan and his popularity in the state has soared in the last five years.

4. Peru who Died at age 35 was full of life and vibrant.

5. In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, Tobi revealed why he does not want to relocate to Lagos despite his fast-growing popularity.

He said: ‎”There are many kings in Lagos, but just one in Ibadan and that is me! Stay on your lane and when it’s time to bring kings together, your brand will be strong enough to make you sit with kings.‎”

6. The comedian is survived by Bryan, his child, who is with his mother in the United States.
