Reno Omokri Reacts To Plot To Arrest CBN Governor, Emefiele

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted to the plot to arrest the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Naija News reports that the Department of State Service (DSS) had in an ex parte application before the Federal High Court, Abuja, sought the court’s order to arrest and detain Emefiele over alleged terrorism financing amongst others.

The court in its ruling on December 9, had declined to grant a request by the DSS to arrest Emefiele, stating that sufficient evidence was not brought before it to warrant the granting of the order.

Chief Justice of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, who delivered the ruling held that the secret police has not presented any concrete evidence to support its application.

Reacting in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, Omokri said the move to arrest Emefiele is politically motivated, adding that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was behind the plot.

The controversial author added that Nigerians can now clearly see that Emefiele’s sin is the Naira redesign, which has frustrated the ruling party’s rigging plan.

He wrote: “Nigerians should ask themselves why the spokesman of the APC Presidential campaign is attacking the CBN Governor,and asking the DSS to move against him? Nigerians can now clearly see that Emefiele’s sin is the Naira redesign, which has frustrated their rigging plan!”
