The vice presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Isaac Idahosa, has dismissed speculations that his party is still open to a possible merger with other political parties ahead of the 2023 elections.

The running mate to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso however stated that the fast-rising party is open for those that wants to join.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Monday, Idahosa, who is the Bishop of Illumination Assembly, Ajah, Lagos, stated that Nigeria will be better if it has a leader who not just talks but walk the talk.

The NNPP vice-presidential candidate added that the NNPP is confident of emerging victorious at the polls come February 2023.

He said: “Although it is for other parties to want to align with the NNPP, not us trying to. Merger is over as you know that one. For those who deem it fit to join us, we are open, we are open to alignments and coming together to ensuring that we bring about a viable government that is what we are up to doing is open.”

2023: What Tinubu Told Labour Leaders During Town Hall Meeting

The details of the meeting between the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and Labour leaders have emerged.

Naija News reports that Tinubu, on Monday, met with the leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) at a town hall meeting held at Chida Hotel Conference Centre in Abuja.

The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba, and his Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Festus Osifo led the two labour groups in the country to the interactive session.

Speaking at the meeting, Tinubu said his achievements in Lagos make him the best person to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, urging Nigerian workers to vote for him because he is the most qualified of the presidential candidates.

The APC flagbearer stated that he transformed Lagos infrastructurally and powered it to the 5th largest economy in Africa and can repeat the same feat at the national level.

Tinubu promised to tackle unemployment, poverty, challenges in the housing and educational sector, and weak industrial base of the economy if elected as the President, noting that his track record speaks volumes of his commitment to good governance.
