CAN Reacts As Gunmen Kill Pastor, Kidnap Church Members

The Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN) has called on the federal government not to let the Killers of Southern Kaduna people escape.

According to the association, those who committed the deadly act of massacre must be fished out, arrested, and brought to justice no matter who is involved.

Naija News reports that the Kaduna chapter of CAN was reacting to the killing of what it described as the death of over 28 innocent defenceless people of the Mallagum community in the Kagoro area in Kaura Local Government Area of the state on Sunday night.

The Kaduna State chairman of CAN, Rev. John Joseph Hayab in a statement personally signed on Monday said federal government and its security agencies should ensure that the perpetrators of such a brutal act were brought to book.

Hayab while condemning the act he called “barbaric” urged the affected communities and the entire people of Southern Kaduna t to remain calm and slow security agencies to do the needful.

The Kaduna CAN chairman said: “This massacre has further proven that the killers of the Southern Kaduna people have not yet been neutralized as claimed.

“These renewed killings may be a strategy to scare the people from exercising their rights and to further increase fear and impoverish them.”

He maintained that as a matter of urgency, the government and security agencies should improve their duty of protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians.

He said it was the only way to guarantee the safety of Nigerians to go about their daily activities without hindrance in these hard times.
