The remains of the 22-year-old fashion designer in Lagos State, Bamise Ayanwola, who was found dead days after she boarded a bus belonging to the Bus Rapid Transport scheme, in February have been laid to rest amidst tears.

Naija News gathered that Ayanwola has been buried amidst heavy tears and sorrow at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, in Lagos on Friday.

Ayanwola was reported missing after boarding a BRT bus at the Chevron area of Lekki on her way to Oshodi about 10 months ago.

Her body was found days after she went missing, but her colleague from work, Felicia Omolara who she (the deceased) contacted when she suspected foul play on the BRT bus on the day of the incident confirmed that she heard Ayanwola arguing with a male voice when she called her that faithful day.

Ayanwola’s colleague narrated that she called her that day after the deceased stopped responding to her chats on WhatsApp.

Omolara said the deceased told her she observed that the bus driver refused to pick up other passengers on the road and she advised her to alight.

However, a BRT driver identified as Andrew Ominnikoron, is facing counts of conspiracy, rape and murder over Ayanwola’s death.

Omolara, however, noted that when her friend no longer responded to her chats on WhatsApp, she called her phone number, adding that when she picked up the call, a man was heard arguing with Oluwabamise.

But the suspect later claimed that he had no connection with the death of Bamise, as he was only following instructions of her abductors who held him and Bamise hostage on the bus.
