Man Caught Publicly Bathing With Blood In Ogun Reveals Why He Did It

A 49-year-old man identified as Ganiyu Shina has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly bathing with blood at a community river in Kotopo, in the Odeda Local Government Area of the state.

The arrested man was said to have visited the river, alighted from his vehicle, and started bathing in the river before community members noticed the act and took action.

Shina however took to his heels as the community people approached him but was chased down and apprehended.

The community people then put a call through to the Police who came and took the suspect away.

Speaking on the matter, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the man’s arrest.

The Police PRO added that the man narrated that a herbalist instructed him to carry out the ritual in order to overcome some spiritual problems he is dealing with.

The suspect added that the blood he was seen bathing with is not human blood but that of a cow.

Oyeyemi said, “Immediately he discovered that some people were watching him, he took to his heels, but was chased and apprehended by members of the community.

“A call was made to the police at the Aregbe divisional headquarters by a member of the community, and the DPO, SP Bunmi Asogbon, quickly led a patrol team to the scene, from where the suspect was brought to the station.

“On interrogation, the suspect claimed to have a spiritual problem, and that a herbalist instructed him to perform the ritual.

“He claimed further that the blood in his possession was not human blood, but that of cow.”

The Police added that the remaining blood would be taken to the laboratory based on the directive of the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole to ascertain if it was cow blood or not.
