The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, has reacted as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, fixed his damaged Toyota Camry.

The Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Director of Media and Publicity had reported earlier in the week that he was nearly crushed to death by a vehicle in the convoy of the PDP presidential candidate.

In a post via his Facebook page, Onanuga said the incident occurred along the Shehu Shagari expressway, Abuja on Sunday evening.

Onanuga described the incident as a ‘close shave with death’, adding that the accident occurred as he was going back home after visiting Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi at around 9 pm on Sunday.

The APC chieftain, however, has confirmed via the same medium that the vehicle involved has been fully repaired with the bill footed by Atiku.

Onanuga commended Atiku’s team for the swift and rational response to the incident. The APC chieftain who commended Atiku’s director of strategic communications, Dele Momodu, and the PDP candidate’s chief of staff, Mainasara Sani, said it is necessary for VIPs (Very Important Persons) to constantly caution their drivers in their motorcade to respect other road users.

He wrote: “My car is now back on the road, fully repaired after the bashing on Sunday by a driver in Atiku Abubakar’s convoy”.

Onanuga added: “I commend Atiku’s aides, especially the Chief of staff Mainasara Sani; director of strategic communications, Dele Momodu for ensuring that I was fully reimbursed for the expenses incurred.

“I also applaud the sanction meted out to the driver who hit my car. Our VIPs need to constantly caution their drivers in their motorcade to respect other road users”.
